Slave to Fashion Kickstarter Campaign1 May 2016
People Tree founder and CEO Safia Minney has recently launched a Kickstarter campaign for her project Slave to Fashion, which if backed, would get her and her team on the road to investigate the issue of modern-day slavery through both a book and a series of mini-documentaries, as well as educational tools that will help raise awareness and offer solutions for businesses and consumers.
With years of experience as a fair-trade pioneer, author and social entrepreneur, Safia and her team will make the most of their knowledge and contacts to take their audience where few others would have access to, allowing for an accurate portrayal of slavery nowadays.

The fact that currently 13,000 of 21 million people who are in conditions of slavery worldwide, are found in Britain, highlights the fact that this is a far more wide-spread issue than most of us probably imagine. It becomes even more problematic considering that more than half of them are women and girls and 26% of them are less than 18 years old.
With 18 days to go and more than half of the pledged budget still to be raised, we'd like to urge you not to miss your chance to support this unique and much needed project and don't forget to spread the word on and offline, of course!
